Vessel Sinks Have Been Designed To Save Space In Modern Bathroom Cabinets

Renovating your bathroom is not easy, but it is not very hard either. The market is flooded with so many types of modern gadgets at such a reasonable price range that choosing one that will suit you in every respect is not at all hard. However, that is only one part of it. Renovation involves more than choosing the right fixtures; you must have them installed at the right place too. Take the modern bathroom cabinets for example. There are so many types of them, but you just cannot pick up one that takes hold of your fancy; it must be right for your bathroom.

Remember, when they prepare the catalogue, the setting is created to suit the cabinet, but in your case you must go in the opposite direction and choose the cabinet to match the existing setting. As you go hunting for the right bathroom fixture, especially the right kind of bathroom cabinets, remember that -
• Whatever looks good in the catalogue may not look equally good in your bathroom.
• The size of the bathroom is all very important. Too big a cabinet in too small a bathroom will look awkward.
• If the cabinet is a vanity, there must be arrangement for water outlet and inlet at the selected spot. Therefore, decide where to put it before you choose it.  The shape and size of the vanity should be suitable for that very spot.
• Look at the existing décor and choose the vanity accordingly. If you are going in for total renovation, consider other fixtures as well as the ambience you want to create.

If, for instance, there is a lot of glass and steel in the general décor, you can consider modern glass vanities as bathroom cabinet. However, there is no hard and fast rule in this respect. If cleverly chosen a wooden vanity may do wonder by creating the right contrast. Therefore, it is evident that although there are some general rules to follow, each case should be taken up separately for individual consideration.

All said and done, there is nothing more chic than modern glass vanities, especially if it come with chrome fittings such as faucets, pipes, handrails, brackets etc. However, there is one big disadvantage with such vanities – they have very limited storage space and whatever space is available is generally open. Therefore, you must also decide how much storage space you require and how important closed cabinets are to you!

In fact, storage space is limited in all wall hung vanities and therefore, if you want ample place to store the bathroom items as well as other sundry articles, you must look for a floor standing vanity with vessel sinks. However, such a vanity may look cumbersome in a very small bathroom with limited space or even in a big bathroom with little free space. For most of the modern bathrooms, the wall-mounted vanities with vessel sinks are best bet.

Then again, you have double and single vanities to choose from. While the former has two sinks set up side by side, the later has just one. As a result, the double vanities take up more space than single vanities. You can have them both as floor standing and as wall hung vanities. If you would rather have large countertop to keep the essentials near at hand, you can look for a single vanity with a large countertop or can have additional racks installed to take care of it.

It is always better to determine your need and then go hunting for right vanity. Of course, we always do that – we decide our basic need and then go through different alternatives to select the exact model that suits us. In these days aggressive marketing, when the customer is deemed king and the companies are fighting for market share, you cannot have a problem that has no solution. Wall hung vanities may be short on storage space, but with the invention of vessel sinks, the problem adequately addressed.

Traditional vanities generally have a cavity in which to install the sink. However, the problem is that, such a cavity generally eats up the topmost shelf and thus decreasing the storage space even further.  A vessel sink vanity does not have any such cavity. The sink here is installed on the vanity top, thus leaving the entire space within for storage purpose. That is why you will find most of the wall hung vanities today have this type of sinks. As I said, if there is a requirement, there will be something to fulfill it. The manufacturers of modern bathroom cabinets will never let you down.
